A Bit About Us
Committed to the Arts
Currently, we have 3 Main Stage performances in our season, fall, winter, and spring. In addition, we present three family-oriented productions: a holiday show, a children's show, and a show cast with teens. Alongside these 6 productions, we offer various other activities, including workshops, new play presentations, dinner meetings & membership parties. The Holland Community Theatre building is also available as a rental.
Our Mission
Why We Do What We Do
Since our opening in 1960, HCT has been working day and night to achieve one main mission: to encourage theatre arts through education, training, and experience in the production of living theatre for the recreation and entertainment of the citizens of the community which supports it.
Our Story
Find Out More About Us
Holland Community Theatre started in 1960, performing at Holland High School’s Performing Arts Center for many years. Eventually, the name was amended to Holland Civic Theatre. As time went on, HCT needed a place to call home, so the building at 50 West 9th Street was purchased. A group of volunteers set out to make this former Grace Episcopal Church into a theatrical performance space. The building was painted, updated, renovated, fitted for seating and a stage was built. In 2019, in order to better align itself as a community organization, the group changed its name back to The Holland Community Theatre.
Holland Community Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Our theatre runs on the power of volunteers, both on and backstage.
